Selling your books at Myopic

We are always looking for quality used books in many diverse subject areas such as: Art, Architecture, Fiction, History, Psychology, Philosophy, Science Fiction, Poetry, Cooking, Sociology, Music, Drama....and many more.

You can sell us your books for store credit, or cash. We pay a fair price for good books!

REGULAR (walk-in) BUYING HOURS

Fridays from 6PM to 10PM
Saturdays from 9AM to 4PM

NOTICE: We will NOT be purchasing books on Friday, May 10th and Saturday, May 11th. We shall resume regular book buying hours the following week on Friday, May 17th.

A party can bring up to 3 boxes or 4 grocery bags once per day during the walk-in hours.

THURSDAY APPOINTMENTS
Parties with larger quantities of books (8+ boxes) can make an appointment to bring in their books en masse on Thursday evenings (after 4pm). This can be arranged by calling the store at 773-862-4882. NOTE: Appointments are generally booked a month in advance.

If you have more than the walk-in amount, we suggest you either pare down what you have by using the guidelines below or make two or three separate trips on separate days. We would like to stress that our limits are PER PARTY and PER DAY, so showing up twice on Saturday with three friends each bearing three boxes of YOUR books will be highly frowned upon. We have the quantity limits in place so that everyone can be taken care of in a reasonable amount of time and so that we have enough cash on hand to make sure everyone can be paid for their books.

We will not take walk-ins on Thursday.

If these hours do not work for you, feel free to call us and we can see if our buyers can accomodate you.

How it works

Bring your books in during our Buying Hours

Check in at the front. We keep a list, and attend to each person in order of arrival.

Stay with your books, no drop offs.

During busy buying hours, the wait may be around a half an hour.

Books that we do not buy, you must take back with you.

We do not accept donations.
